Quad Cities - NAI Ruhl Commercial Company was pleased to host the relaunch of their annual Market Report Event on May 16, 2023, at the Waterfront Convention Center in downtown Bettendorf, Iowa. This year’s event marks the return of the popular conference after time away due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Speaking at the event was NAI Ruhl Commercial President John G. Ruhl, Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors President Chris Beason, and KC Conway, CCIM, CRE, MAI, Co-Founder and Principal of Red Shoe Economics and CCIM Institute Chief Economist.
John G. Ruhl gave a summary of current activity for each segment of the commercial real estate market for the region, including retail, office, land, investment, and industrial. “The industrial market is extremely active, with the only limitation being available quality inventory. This has created an opportunity for new industrial product to be constructed, as industrial pricing has increased substantially in the last eighteen months,” said Ruhl.
On the residential side, Chris Beason gave an update on inventory and trends of homes in the region. Inventory is still selling at a quick clip, with only a slight difference from last year.
KC Conway gave his overall economic forecast, including his thoughts on the debt ceiling and banking. Iowa banks are, in his estimation, well-capitalized in the current economy.
